Mallorca is part of a region where more than 65% of eligible households miss out on Spain’s minimum income support: across the Balearic Islands, they either do not apply or do not receive the payment. The finding comes from a Fundación Civismo report covered by Europa Press on 14 October 2026. Catalonia also has a rate above 65%.
Across Spain, 55% of households potentially eligible for the basic payment did not apply or receive it in 2024. The gap was wider for the child support supplement, which did not reach 72% of eligible households..
